    Sharp MX-FN17 Staple Issues.

I have five MX-FN17 internal finishers that are having the same problem...
When I go to staple a stack of pages, the finisher does no stack the pages up properly before it staples,
this happens no matter where I tell it to staple... i.e. (2 staples on right side, 1 staple on right top side), and no matter what paper orientation is coming out of the machine. Sometimes the stack will be so far off that the top page of the stack will be missed completely by the staples but the bottom pages of the stack will get stapled. I have been dealing with Sharp tech support on this issue of a while now with no resolution to the problem. All machines and finishers have the latest firmware on them. I have cleaned all rollers and belts in all finishers, but it did not make any difference at all. All 5 finishers are brand new out of the box.

Please help, as I don't have any hair left to pull out!

Even new out of the box the rollers or belts can have a light coating of a powder (similar to talcum) that can cause slippage.
Give the "scrape' belts a good cleaning.

Thanks ZOOTECH for the comment, sorry I didn't add that to the original post... I have cleaned all rollers and belts in all problem finishers. Firmware is up to date. Also adjusted flapper solenoid per Sharp tech support. Have tried several different types of paper. Have tried swapping finishers and machines. But nothing seems to help.

OK, you've done the prerequisites; did you remove the foam rollers on the delivery unit?

Maybe... tech support had us change paper type to recycled paper, and it worked just fine. Not sure what the next step is but I think they are on the right track.
