    Telephone Mode on MX-2600N?

I got a call from a telecoms tech who was installing a VoIP phone system at a customer location. After the installation, when a phone line was plugged into the "Line" port of the fax module of this MX-2600N, the machine locked up, went into copy mode, and gave the message "Telephone Mode"

I have not seen this before, and I cannot find any resources in either the 2600 service manual, or the MX-FXX2 manual. Has anyone come across this before? Nothing on the machine has changed, just the new phone system.

This tech tip may not be your answer (TT-050415_1 G3 over VOIP), but it gives you some ammunition when a customer switches from a PSTN to digital line.
Make sure firmware is up to date and you are using the 2-wire RJ11 cable.

It is something they have done in the phone system that needs to straightened out. You may have issues with VOIP. Good Luck

        Try SIM 66-01. S-sw 27 bit 456=111
        S-sw 29 bit 3456=1001
        S-sw 72 bit 6=1
