    MX-2301N DEAD

    Hello,
i have a customer with a dead MX-2301N. (No display ,no initialization)
Measuring at low voltage power supply outputs, i read only 4.7 V. No other voltages at all! Leds on controller PWB are lit.( 5 or 6 in vertical sequence)
I do not have a service manual for this product.
Should i have to remove power supply for further check... or it might be something else??
Thanks in advance for any input!

Might sound like a dumb question, but is the outlet live? What are the Vrms volts? Have you started with the simplest of troubleshooting to determine if the outlet could be defective? It has happened many times to me that the customer says the mfp is dead, but it's really the outlet that's dead.

What manual and section did you find this info? I could have used this last year when I had the same no boot problem.

Any service manual, chapter Troubleshooting, after the "Details of error codes and countermeasures". Just do a search on "led display" and you will find it, there is couple of pages with hints when mfp won't boot.

I don't have a chapter called "Troubleshooting" in any manual I looked at, and the search came up empty for this type of chart. Maybe the European manuals are different (?).
Anyway, I hope this chart is universal to the different families of Sharps - thanks again.

                I took it from:

                SERVICE MANUAL
                CODE: 00ZMX3610/S5E

                MODEL
                MX-1810U/2010U
                MX-2310U/3111U
                MX-2610N/3110N
                MX-3610N

Chapter [6] Troubleshooting (The section where all the Error code is descibed (like Detail, Cause and Check & Remedy)) Last 2 pages of that chapter is info and hints about mfp not booting

                Page 355 (of 764)

Thanks, Christian, that is the first time, that I remember, seeing an actual Troubleshooting chapter.

There is a small board which the memory board is connected to, it has about three fuses. One of it is likely broken, if it is, then replace it. I had such an issue but it was for ARM. It may work for u too. Goodluck

                        ASIC: Application Specific Integrated Circuit
Check the MFP control PWB, you will find something like this:
                        Buffalo_IFC-ILP4_VIA_VT6306.jpg This is an ASIC.

I had one customer with that problem, i found out that it was something wrong with the power on the machine (The whole MFP was leaking 130 Volt, it was a fun thing to find out )
After fixing the volt leaking problem, i also had all lights on the MFP PWB, with the Reus Asic Trouble, so i changed the hole MFP PWB card and it has been working for over 1 year now.

                          Re: MX-2301N DEAD

I decided to remove the low voltage power supply first , to verify
if it has a real problem.
It seems that it is not an easy repair procedure , because i don't have the information how to remove it from the machine!!
By the way i will check everything else has been suggested here..
                          I'll be back!
