Trying to set up scan to folder on windows 8. keeps coming up Selected Servers are not found. I have set up a scans folder and typed in \\192.168.3.38\scans into the address book. works ok with other makes eg Konica

Need to have win 8.1 with the november 2013 rollup, this adds a setting in windows features of: SMB 1.0/CIFS file sharing support(turn on/add).

Usually have to add a user name and password to the address book settings on the mfp and I make sure that netbios is turned on the pc, as some older products (mfps, ext hdd, or other devices that us file sharing) use tcp port 139 for smb. if you search the sharp forums and the connectivity forums you will find all kinds of tips and tricks for mfps and smb
