Intermittent Light Copies on MX-M503N

I have a customer with an MX-M503N that periodically will get stretches of light copies. I've made sure the machine was not in toner save mode, and I've had the customer run simulation 46-24. Neither of these seemed to have fixed it. It doesn't seem to matter if the document is copied through the document feeder or the glass. Any suggestions?

Are the print jobs also light?

If print jobs are not light look at the optics.

If the print jobs are light then try changing sim 46-19 to 1.

What is the meter reading?Light copies or print? Did you try to misfeed the paper and check if the image in the drum is light or dark? Check if the Drum have scratches on the sides. The thing is, its hard to isolate the problem if only the costumer encountered it and if you visit it is working properly.
