    Apple Image Capture

I am after some feedback here.

We have a customer who has an MX-C301W and all their PC's are MAC and they use Ipads aswell. He is frequently asking how to get Image Capture to detect the 301. He says he doesn't have any problem with his Brother machines.

I am not too familiar with MAC. My understanding is the the 301s don't have Air Print so the Ipads can't see the printer, as a work around we have installed third party software which is working.

Would the machine not having Air Print be the reason the customer isn't able to detect the machine in Image Capture? Our salesman will bring his Mac laptop from home in next week for me to have a play around in the office.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

apples support site on airprint discusses printing , there was no mention of scanning, Apple Image Capture appears to be the Mac version of Windows Scan app in win 8.1 and in previous versions it was camera and scanners. Image capture is a pull scan (like windows twain) on the sharp mfp I think it is called PC scan. there is only a windows twain driver , no similar mac driver on the Sharp drivers. I use sharpdesk mobile for IOS and windows 8.1 tablets for scanning and printing , as long as you can see the Sharp mfp on your device sharpdesk mobile will work . I use this for a lot of schools , some have a combo of mac and windows and more Ipads are being used also in my area.
