Toshiba estudio 2550c hard drive failure. HELP

Installed a 320 gig hard drive. In 4c it shows as a sata hdd and not an Adi hdd.
Was able to update system and engine software but could not for the life of me!!
load hard drive software. This must be because of it not being an ADI drive ( wipe technology)
the original toshiba 320 gig hdd is dead.

What at is the correct procedure?
i formatted the drive, next we will attempt to backup and perhaps restore the sram. Is that the way to go?

Toshiba 2550c help me with the hard drive.

Looks like you put in the wrong drive. You need wipe technology.

Thanks for the reply !!! Yea... We figured that out when my head tech actually read the words " you can not use a sata drive to replace an ADI. Apparently I clicked on the main hard drive replacement procedure and didn't see the "precautions before replacing hard drive" section. 3 hours down the drain. :/

I have a customer where we are replacing their 2550c and they want us to clear the data before we remove the machine. I found the process to clear it but do we really need to replace firmware on the HDD? I work on Ricohs and KonicaMinoltas which do not have Firmware on the HDD. If i do does any one know were I can get it?

Sorry to say, Toshiba practice is store System software data ( HDD program data ) on the HDD.

we buy our ADI HDD from MX Memory Experts International - MX Memory Experts International

they are original toshiba wipe technology hdd, price is cheaper.

The machine works perfectly and one day the its shows error f106
I checked the hard drive status it shows sata hard drive not adi hdd
I havet replaced the drive but my adi drive converts into sata drive
I need help with this
