The call read: "Won't wake up from sleep mode."

... but there turned out to be a lot more to it. The machine is an e Studio 6570CT.

When I arrived the screen was blank, and the orange power LED was on very weakly. No response from the panel or soft power switch. You can hear the system board fan, but that's it. Unplugged and re-booted several times with the same result.

To get past this I took off the back cover and started pulling on harnesses. When I got near the power supply, the PS fan briefly spun up. Cool! Connector CN404 on the PS was partially inserted. Now the machine boots up, initializes and comes to "Ready". Great ... well, sort of.

I began by browsing through menus. I could select duplex, finishing, stapling, etc. then I noticed that the black & white and auto color buttons were grayed out. Odd! Then the finishing options grayed out. The screen beeps when pressed (at least the not-grayed out buttons). The hard buttons beep when pressed. But nothing prints. Not 9S-107, 9S-103, 05-4Fax, 05-70Fax, Counter page, none of them. It stays at "Ready". No job appears in the print queue.

Then I did the HDD and firmware. No change. The hotline got me on the right track. I started listing off the grayed out buttons: Finishing, Black & White, Auto Color, Network, Cloning, most of the Fax Functions ... hmmmm!! At their prompting I initialized, then disconnected the fax board. OK, now it's a working MFP without faxing. Great! So it needs a fax board. Well, um ... no.

I installed the new fax board and initialized. No change. So on to the System Board. The System Board did fix it, once I figured out the procedure. I figured out the 3C-5 Key, License and ADIKey Backup. Even so, F106_5 errors until I reformatted the new HDD I installed yesterday, and reloaded the firmware for the now fourth time, and re-calibrated for the fourth time. And did the screen align for the fourth time.

I certainly did not expect that outcome. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
