    E-Studio 311c - Printing problem

    Hello All,

On my 311c it sometimes prints pages out of order. Say im printing a 14 Pages Broshure in booklet mode, saddle stiched. It mixes up the page order sometimes, and other times it doesnt. It appears to randomly put the pages in any order it wants to. Even if I tell it to print 30 copies, every single copy will have the pages in a differnt order. Any idea what could cause this? Sometimes it just works correctly. I am using an External Firey on this machine.

    Any help would be appreciated!!

    Thanks

Which application are you printing from. OR, does this anomaly occur from all applications? Which print driver are you using, PCL or PS?

I am printing from a 16-Page PDF file using acrobat. Im using the PCL driver on a Vista System. In the print options, im selecting Booklet Mode in the windows print options, then saddle stich and 11x17 paper options int he 311 driver. Could it be a driver problem?

Use the PS driver. It will take longer to RIP but might solve your issue.

If you are trying to print mulitple copies, then Acrobat will give you the option to collate. This is in the Acrobat dialougue box, not the printer properties.

If you turn this off, your copier will still collate the print jobs, but it will stop Acrobat from sending the job multiple times which causes the copier to do funny things when printing.

This will also work for MS Office Applications.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.
