    Toshiba 3511 Image Quality

I just did some maintenance on two of my 3511s . I did a 05-396 on one at firmware 110 and it executed. I did 05-396 on my other unit with firmware 4006 and the "wait" message appeared and disappeared for a split second and nothing happens. Was this changed in the newer firmware, and what procedure should be done when replacing drum, transfer belt and EPU Kit?

When you replace any PM parts in this machine you need to go into PM support mode (start+6 select 2) and clear the maintenance counters for the items you replaced. If you replace the developer material you can initialize the developers using PM support mode (start+6 select 1). After doing 05 396 all that is left is to perform the gamma calibrations.

I am not sure why you got the 'wait' message on the machine with 4006. The firmware version has nothing to do with the IQ initialization.

396 is not doing anything except for the quick flash of the "wait" obviously something is not right. The prints are very rich, if that would explain it, probably using a lot more toner than needs be. I already set the PM counters.

Try print some calibrating under 05 mode - 4+FAX, if you can't then reload firmware.

one of the reasons this happens is that the IQ sensor has been switched off that would explain why the copies are so "rich".
check 05 mode switch sensor back on and 396 will recalibrate.

The cal charts print without problem, they are bright and rich just as the prints are.Come to think of it, I don't ever remember this machine doing an auto calibration since I had it. My other ones do it sometime when first turned on and they always do it after a large print job.

What would be the number to switch the IQ back on since I don't see it in the manual?

                3511 IQC

                08-549 SET TO 1
                08-551 SET TO 1
                08-552 SET TO 1
                08-553 SET TO 1
                08-554 SET TO 1
                08-555 SET TO 1
                08-556 SET TO 1
                08-557 SET TO 1
                08-559 SET TO 1
Check and set all these codes this will switch on the "IQC" take a note of previous settings as IQC may have been switched off for some reason and you may start getting IQC error codes appearing.

                  08-556 and 08-557 were at 0

Set them to 1 and now the IQC is working again. Thanks for the help.
