    screen in toshiba e-studion556 off some times

    hi , l have toshiba e-studio 556 , when turn on (some times)screen still off , i try turn off , on many times it work normal . any one have idea?

      Pinched wire inside panel - shape of plastic was changed long time ago
      new style LCD unit with old firmware - LCD unit was upgraded long time ago
      backlight electronics/powersupply dying - this machine is old.

      have you taken anything apart? upgraded firmware? swapped control panels? or done any troubleshooting other than switch the machine off and on like you should not do or risk killing the HDD ?
