    Bad problem (Tos 2060)

What happens is when making mutiple copies it jams. What I find is there are two or three copies one on top of the other laying on the transfer belt. I have replaced the registration clutch on the reg. roller and all tires on the paper feed unit. If I copy one at a time it does not jam. Any suggestions.

Cheat the front door while running and make sure the fuser and transport belts keep turning. Also I have had the rubber cleaning blade in the fuser flip up and cause drag on the fuser, causing strange problems. Good luck. Also, what code does it get when it jams? Press the clear and 8 keys when it jams to get the code. Make sure the t/s wires are in good shape and the t/s corona blocks aren't leaking.

I'm not so sure. If paper selection problem, paper might stop in copier & jam, but I don't think it would sit 2 or 3 on top of each other. I would check conveyance drive also. By the way, that rubber blade mentioned in the first post, take it out & throw away. As long as you keep a decent cleaning roller in it, you don't need the blade, & it will increase the life of the UFR significantly.

I second throwing the blade out. Just keep oil rollers in it. Sounds like either a fuser drive problem or a transport belt drive/slipping problem.
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.

Back in the day when I worked on these, I used to see broken transport belt roller tabs (where the rollers interlocked with each other) mostly due to gummed up / worn out bushings and goo buildup on the shafts that the rollers are on. As well as transport belts that would be worn out or stretched cause problems like this. I used to carry rebuilt transport units for all the models with me.

I used to hate the 2060-2860 (worse than it's predecessors). Geez, what do thay have, a 60-80k pm cycle? Now I hate the Ricoh 350-450 series and ALL of it's 4 or 5 generations of children. They might as well have a 60-80k pm cycle also, LOL!

              regards

Sar is correct about the plastic tabs, I completely forgot to mention them. I never saw the problem on the 2060, but multiple times on the 2550. 3550 & 4550
