If anyone out there has one of these on their machine, I would like to know how you handle the Die Set that the customer uses. When they need to be replaced do you have the customer pay for this or is this something you include in your m/a? Thanks for the info.

The customer is ALWAYS responible for the cost of a new die set. They average between 700.00 and 1000.00 each. The rated life is somewhat a mystery. If they punch only 20LB paper then the life can be 500K to 3 Million. If they ever punch anything other than the 20LB paper then anything goes. If the machine count is less than 2 million they most likely need new dies. If the machine life is more than that then they need new dies and you should look at punch clutch, brake clutch and back gauge assembly. Good luck, but the first thing you need to do is make sure the dies are good. You could end up rebuilding the whole punch unit just to find the dies are worn. Your manager would not really like that.
