I understand that if a customer wants to be able to perform the Private Print function on the new eStudio 478s/ 389cs/479cs they must use the Toshiba Generic XL print driver.
This appears to be a relabelled Lexmark driver and under the Tab called Print & Hold, you must check the box Confidential Print.
The Toshiba Universal Printer 2 print driver does not support Private Print/ Confidential print on these models.
The only way I can see to get the Private Print/ Confidential Print function to work is under the Security tab in the Web Browser. You must create a local account for each user who wants this feature.
On the LCD panel , you have to touch the "Held Jobs" icon find your print job under Confidential, touch it, enter your PIN code and release it for print.
In a large workgroup, where people come and go, this is quite a few more keystrokes than with the very easy to install Toshiba Universal 2 print driver. Every time there is a new employee, who's job is it to create a new local user? Certainly, TeamViewer would be helpful for this task.
Is there something that I am missing or is there an easier way to provide Private Print/ Confidential Print?
