    Tosh e-282 hole punch

I'm getting a headach... Just purchased used e-282 67k on copier "assummimg" finisher has the same. Finisher is a MJ-1025. Hole punch is a MJ-6005N. When select hole punch, it will punch 2 holes in the 8.5x11 and it will punch 3 holes in the 8.5x11R. This sequence is BACKWARDS. Or am I just over looking the ovious. I am supposed to deliver this today. Looking for any and all help. Many Thanks. Bill T.

letter format (long edge right and left) will only punch 3 holes.
letter-r format (same direction as legal) will only punch 2 holes.

The other thing to check is the dip switches on the punch pwb and make sure it is set correct. Also what firmware level on the finisher and punch?
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

I agree, The problem I am having is letter (long edge front to rear) is two hole punch and letter R (long edge L to R) is three hole punch. Yes I did do correct hole punch procdure with dip sw. ARRGG.

I did do a 9/start print out and with the help of another tech on the phone he "thinks" I do NOT have updated firmware, still tring to confirm that. I have the print out in the office, I will post Tuesday morning.

Thanks for the reply, I need to get this thing going...
      Bill.

I have never seen this problem but a couple things come to mind if the F/W doesn't fix it. Could the punch motor be hooked up backwards and be rotating the wrong way? I don't know if this would code out or not but something to look at. Also, would it be possible for the punches to be out of time and possibly need to be rotated 90 degrees independent of the home flag? Honestly I am not sure whether these two could happen and not cause a code, but they might be something to look at.
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.
