I just wanted to add that I was in a fix as I had factory reset a Toshiba e-Studio 2330C and this effectively bricked it! I am really annoyed at Toshiba for A) not warning you that doing this will brick your device and B) making it literally impossible for you to recover! I tried contacting Toshiba and our local service agent and they wouldn't help at all! So out of desperation I contacted the number above in WhatsApp and in the end reluctantly sent some money to the chap that answered in the hope it would work out well. And I have to say, it really did No sooner had I sent the payment than I received the firmware and beyond that, the chap was really, really helpful in getting it installed and working.

I struggled to find a USB drive that would work, as most of the ones I had were 4GB or upwards and the printer flatly refused to recognise them (it was made at a time when a 512MB USB drive was considered huge)! I tried FAT\FAT32, smaller partitions etc. but to no avail. In the end I found a USB SD card reader with a 16GB SD card and it booted from that where the others had failed?! So for anyone else in this situation; find the oldest USB thumb drive you can get, ideally 1GB or less, so you know it is old enough to be recognised by the printer, and use that.

And beyond that, the process of installing the firmware is as nasty and messy as you could imagine in your worst nightmare. You had to enter hidden menus by powering on with at least three different combinations of holding different keys down to get to different 'hidden' menus. You then had to key in several different combinations of numbers to access hidden functions in the hidden menus. Shame on you Toshiba for making something so, so bad!!!

But, fortunately for me, alishair1452, who I had just paid some money to for the firmware, helped me through the process with great patience.

I should add, I have factory reset hundreds of devices, maybe thousands. I have flashed firmware to BIOS's in the 90's, routers in the 00's and phones in the 10's. But in three decades working in IT, I have never had the palaver I had with this c**ppy Toshiba!

Anyway, my point is, the amount I paid alishair1452 for the firmware I do begrudge paying. But for the help that came with it, it was worth it and it worked out well in the end
