OK, I have a strange one here and I can't quite figure it out. I'm not sure if it goes here or in Networking. Let's start with the issue: The issue is my alerts / notifications are being sent with the heading of alerts<alerts@mydomain.com> instead of what they used to be NameofAccount <no_reply@whatever.com>
So, here's what's happened:
1: I changed my email service from a super old GoDaddy system (SMTP settings of smtpout.secureserver.com, no SSL/TLS, plain login credentials, port 3535) to Microsoft Office 365 (smtp.office365.com, accept all certificates, login credentials, port 587)
2: We have a separate email account setup JUST for alerts which is alerts@mydomain.com
3: On GoDaddy's older system, we could get around domain mismatches with a bogus return address that goes nowhere and it would still come to my email. We can't do that in Office 365.
4: So, I've gone into a chunk of our accounts in the field and all I have done is changed the SMTP server to our office365 SMTP server and the from address to scans@mydomain.com I have left the FROM NAME as it was before. I've sent the Maintenance Alerts to alerts@mydomain.com
So, what I'm getting is a whoooooole bunch of alerts with no actual FROM NAME and no way to distinguish who it came from. Cloud Connect isn't an option right now. Am I missing something? I'll be happy to provide any details / examples of what I'm getting.
What I used to get was like:
[Information] Open the front cover, and clean the slit glass and main charger.
NameofAccount <no_reply@whatever.com>

NOW, what I get is:
[Information] Open the front cover, and clean the slit glass and main charger.

All I have changed is SMTP client to alerts@mydomain.com under office 365, FROM ADDRESS to alerts@mydomain.com, and admin/maintenance/notification/Notify administrator at Email Address 1 to alerts@mydomain.com - the ONLY thing I can think of is the fact that all three of them use alerts@mydomain.com information. Any ideas?
