1. Log in to the web interface and then login as the administrator
2. Under the 'General' section, go to email
3. Enter in the machine email address, name and some body text
4. Save
5. Go to Network
6. SMTP Client
7. Enter in your email server IP address or Host name.
8. Save
9. Save
This should now work unless your email server has some form of authentication. If your server has login authentication, populate the required fields in the SMTP Client section. Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends. -
yeah i have entered in everything. With those same setting i can set up scan to email on canon and ricoh. Some reason i just cant get it to work on the toshiba. I just need a sample page of how someone has theirs set up, would be great.

Without knowing what settings you actually need for your server it is impossible to say what the right settings are. A few things I see...
You are using the FQDN for your SMTP server so make sure your DNS is correct. Also you are using POP before SMTP, which is fine if it is what you need, I just have not run into that many accounts that actually use POP before SMTP. Also you are using Plain Authentication which again, is fine if that is actually what you need, just not the "norm" as far as what I deal with. Usually I would not use POP before SMTP and would use AUTO or probably in your case (e280 series) LOGIN for authentication type.I will not give you service manuals or firmware.Comment

Some suggestions:
1. Enable SMB. Not obligatory concerning current problem but anyway.
2. SMTP - use IP address of the server not the name.
3. POP3 before SMTP - disabled. Are you sure your server works in this way???
4. Authentication - plain? Are you sure your server works in this way??? Check out other settings. Auto is ok, too.
5. Port number - are you sure your server uses default port. I have seen this problem many times!
6. For POP3 same things.
8. Concerning account name - are you sure your mail server expects this form @.... Try without @....
9. That page is not enough. You have to set senders mail address - most of MS mail servers have this requirement.
Have a fun when reading this. And good luck.
BRI'll never ask if I didn't check user manual, service manual, parts list, BSI/TNI/TAD... web, existing threads.Comment

Verify the outgoing server name. The incoming (pop3) is mail.jrcopiermn.net but you outgoing is something else. Usually the last part is the same, the first part is the one different (I have seen them to be the same but usually not). Also if it is a secure server then you need a password (which would show as ***** on the screen). Did you forget to add this? Also as previously noted try the ip address of the server and the login type (plain,login,auto...). Also check the firewall and make sure that it is not blocking the smtp traffic. If you are on a domain it may need the machine to be added to the "accepted" machine list since it is sending data. One last thing to check. DO YOU have the scan enabler installed. If not then you cannot send anything. And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!Comment
