I have a Toshiba eStudio 65 with the SC-2 Scan Controller and scan dongle. Frankly I no longer use it to copy, but do need and use the scanning capabilities.
The copier works. It will copy. The SC-2 works, I can reach it via network from my PC and reset the controller, etc. However... the two no longer can talk to each other.
The copier can not find the SC-2 and if I give the SC-2 any command for the copier, it says "Connection with printer lost".
There was some sort of electrical event overnight as a few other electrical devices in the office reset (and are fine). So... putting 2 and 2 together I am wondering if:
1) Could I be so lucky as to have only the communications board (Serial/SCSI??) board be bad?
2) Any other ideas?
Any thoughts on a test I can run, or do I need a special board (It does not look like it)?
Would it be better for me to replace the SC-2 - and if so... how do I go about that (availability, etc)?
Any help would be much appreciated.
