    e-studio 550

    Hi!
One client have one e-studio 550 with the gl-1020...
It's the first time I work in this machine and it's so much different from the newer one's...
I want to put her in the network, but I think that the NIC doesn't work, the lights don't go on.
She have this GL installed some time ago, but only now they want to connect to the network.
I checked the disc, the memory, format the disc, check some cables.

If someone have some idea to check if she is working, or some manual about the installation of here.
I can not find much information about this machine, and she don't have codes to this....

    P.S. the button (printer/network) doesn't do anything

On the HDD you have software that makes GL-1020 working. So I presume that you have lose that software when you format HDD. Actually how you did this - taking disk outside, connecting to PC and format it, or?
I'll never ask if I didn't check user manual, service manual, parts list, BSI/TNI/TAD... web, existing threads.

      no.. by, 08+690+2..
but I think that don't work much good too. because when I do that appears in less than 1 second to reboot the machine.....
normally in the new models, takes much more time..

08-690-2 only formats the hard drive in the copier. The GL has its on hard drive. It can also take 30 minutes or more for it to boot. It sounds like the Gl is either dead or not getting power.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

what can take 30m to boot? the HDD of the GL? I don't understand this part..

how can I make a total reset of GL? she need's a new firmware?
I found some books about this machine today, I go study them to see if I can understand how that machine work's with the GL.

When HDD or software on GL-1020 are faulty and you press Network it shows Starting controller. But it never comes up or quite slowly as Mr Spock says. So you will need at least to re-install the software or change the HDD and install software.

if the powersupply is making strange noise in the gl..... i would replace it.... look over the gl's mainboard for blown capacitors (never seen one but you gotta check) then reload the firmware
              I fix copiers ...Well Sorta

Someone can give me the firmware? I don't have for this machine...
And if someone have the service handbook for the GL.. and/or the service manual.

I go try see if I can find one powersupply to her, to try.
                Thanks..

08-690-2 formats the user data only. The machine will still operate as normal. I think there's a clear you have to do when fitting this device but cannot remember which one, a nvram clear wont do any harm 08-6001.

I can't find the problem in this gl-1020...
The powersupply is fine, the memory and the disc too...
But when I connect one monitor to the GL, doesn't appear nothing in the monitor.

And now the GL is making noise like an ambulance...

I can't find the tech manual's, someone can send me them...?

                          hi TTL

are you sure that your machine had GL1020 or gl1020 mounted correct? because if it had gl1020 when you press "print/network" is apear messeger " please wait starting contronller...".

if you had gl01020 in your photocopy machine but it don't run, you must change this gl1020 or reinstall os for GL
                          you can ref. my file.

                          gl to you
