    Toshiba 1650 Strange Problem

I got a strange problem happens on my Toshiba 1650.

When I used manual feeding to send paper from the side, the copy came out fine. But if I use the paper from bottom tray, there are 1 inch area from both top and bottom of paper just won't print. I repeated back and forth. This problem only happens at auto mode. Everything else seemed to work well.

Anybody has any idea what would cause this?

    Hi,

try to adjust the registration using 05 + ON code is 53.

try increase and decrease, and see what is the result.

    regards

Tell your tech to change feed+reg clutches
check part nrs. I think they're not interchangeable on this machine.

Check paper format setting for the cassette. If it is A4-R (or other one) and you are using A4 paper there will be cut-off of the copy on the top and bottom.

08-53 is code for registration - this is leading and trailing edge of copy. Or I am getting terms wrong?

I'll never ask if I didn't check user manual, service manual, parts list, BSI/TNI/TAD... web, existing threads.

          Wrong paper size.
Also these are well known for reg/feed clutch going bad.

Thank you all for your nice comments. The fix actually took 2 seconds.
There is a square plastic plate on the side of paper tray. It was turned 90 degree to "Letter-R" instead of "Letter" position. Once it's set correct, the machine works great. I'm attaching couple of pictures here for future reference.
