Have the above mention copier, had a Maxtor 40GB HDD in the shop and when ahead and installed it. try to do the ON - 3 + Clear procedure, option 3 and give me an error

Need to know if there is a procedure to installing the HDD.

This HDD was formatted before installment.

    Thanks,

I believe that requires an 80 gig hard drive.
Other then that check the jumpers are set for either cable select or master.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

      352 HDD replacement

When I do an HDD replacement I do clear+3-nvram flags clear, clear+3-intialize hdd, clear+3-partition. Update firmware with usb. Do an 08-690, reformatt\ hdd. Do 08-1119 if ntwk connected to restore network settings, if not 08-692, then do 08-947 which sets your new new firmware. Done. 352's use a 40gHDD as standard but will work with an 80g.

I'll never ask if I didn't check user manual, service manual, parts list, BSI/TNI/TAD... web, existing threads.

          352 HDD replacement

Toshiba switched from Maxtor because of all of the issues with them and are now using Western digital. I personally would not use a used Maxtor. I have not had any issues when I install a new WD HDD.

WD is too hot. I prefer Seagate or Hitachi.
