TABS just announced via a recent firmware update that eBN3/ OC3 copiers will be able to collect three tiers of color cpc charges based upon % toner coverage collected by the pixel counter. Effective April 01.
I understand the sales pitch on the sales side but I am wondering what effect this will have on the Admin side. I think a dealer will be forced into a acquiring a Data Collection agent (DCA tool) to import this information into their accounting software.

I am wondering what an automatic email meter read will look like.
I have noticed many dealers now add a line item to their invoices often called something like a Managed Print Service fee
(approx $5 -$7 per month) to recoup the costs of all of the extra software needed to offer Tiered billing.
