    e-studio gl1010 and fax issues

    Hi,
    I have 2 estudio 35 copeirs.

1 has a fax the other has the gl1010 and an ibutton.

I have tried to move the fax card to the machine with the gl101 but it just hangs the copier and will not works. Any help is appreciated.

The second copier also came with an ibutton.

I have no idea what this does and have not been able to find out.

I am also looking for the software and OS for the gl1010.

Thank you for any assistance given.

    Hello,

Did you intialize the fax board when you installed it in the new machine?
    [1] [
Q] [POWER] n [100] n [START] (It takes about 20 seconds for the digital keys to be operable after
the power is turned ON.) (It takes about 10 seconds until the display changes from ‘100’ to ‘CL’.)

As for the GL1010 the I button was used to enable extra option for the controller, like scanning, on the first OS versions. The newest OS version has the option already installed so you don't need the buttons any more.

Hold down the 1 and * while turning power on. The screen that comes up should say "TEST MODE CL". key in 100 and press "START". When the screen returns to CL you can power the copier ON/OFF.

I belive the "IButton" you mention is either the fax enabler dongle, or the scan enabler dongle. The GL1010 at ver 1.XX needed the scan dongle to enable scanning and the fax to enable the fax installed in the GL1010 (not the fax in the main body, never saw one in use). The GL1020 (E810 series) did not need a dongle. When the GL1010 was updated to ver 2.XX it became the GL10X0 and did not need the dongles anymore. They can stay in with no adverse effects. SInce ver 2.XX is Linux based, you need the drive partitioning and software CDs. Both can be downloaded from Toshiba's website and are ISO images. . Divers are provides up through Win server 2003 for the GL10X0. eD
