MFP : Wireless and wired connection at same time

I have eStudio 2820c MFP.
Is it possible to connect wireless and wired LAN to use both connections at same time?

For example, I run wired on 192.168.0.0/24 and wireless on 192.168.1.0/24 and separate out segments of a network.

I would say it depends on the available connections to the machine.

For example, we have a business with 10 Sharp MX4501N's, all with static network connection to the network port, and running a wireless network print server connected to the USB port of the machine at the same time. The wireless print server is simply velcro taped to the back cover.

To this day, I have no idea why they have set it up that way, but I know it works, and it works really well. They have their own specialist nationwide IT department. They set it up, not me.

I would say the wireless connection would be plugged into the USB port, as well as using the standard network port would be the best shot at making this work, just like with our machines.

No you can't because when you enable the wireless in the machine, it will disable the wired ethernet.

Interesting point, but would they still be able to use a configuration like what I posted on this subject earlier. An external wireless print server connected to the USB port works well on the Sharps. I dont know the eStudio gear, but it should still work yeah??

In theory it should work, but I can't remember if you can use the USB ports on the Toshi's to print with or not.

If you can, then what you proposed would work, except for the fact that if the machine is fitted with the wireless option, then you would use the factory wireless and use a JetDirect (or similar) via the ethernet so that the expensive wireless option isn't wasted.

The reason they would use a wireless to USB is so wireless laptops that come and go can print without trying to look for a cat5 wire or even a plug.

Ah yes, true true. Makes perfect sense.

With 10 machines all configured that way, they would have a good choice where they printed to I suppose.

Wireless router negates the need for wireless on the copier. Laptops connect to wireless router not the copier. Copier can connect via cable to wireless router supposedly if there is already a network port available near copier.
