I had a 523 that every once in a while would not start. would see the lit black screen, turn power on and off a few times and it would come up normally. Flashed firmware and all problems solved or so I thought. About month later problem came back,Replaced Power supply and HDD and re flashed to V340 still happens. Now I have another machine doing same thing. Has anybody else experienced this?

I have seen this on e45s but pretty sporadic and generally didn't worry about it. I would make sure it is on a dedicated 20 Amp circuit. It's amazing how places are wired sometimes and what will be on a circuit you think is dedicated.I will not give you service manuals or firmware. -
Check the wall power. Then check all the plugs on the sys pwb/lgc pwb and the power supply. On the power supply there is one plug that is reallllly tight and a slight nudge will pull it out a little and will cause this issue. Also let it sit and see if the panel works but is not lit. This could be a control panel issue and depending on age they replaced these with a newer assembly and you had to order a whole set not just a control pwb or the backlight or the touchscreen. And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!Comment

I had an IH board on one of these get wacked our and had the same black screen problem. It never coded out with. Swapped just about everything before the IH. It has ran for over a year without doing that.
A wall power problem sounds like the way to go first.Comment
