    GM-2040 for e-studio 720

I had a toshiba Es-720 (firmware T390SY0U329). It is printing/scanning with the trial of 39 days (after change NVRAM of board SYS ...). I have buy a GM-2040 dongle ; but I don't know it is good or bad... I don't dare to end the trial by using 08-799 set =0 by more causes. I format normal USB disk (not GM-2040) with FAT. I do into 03 mode for test (after pluging in turn the normal USB disk and the GM-2040 dongle) : 03-power on > start key > copy key on > 0 key. For the normal USB disk, D and E are highlighted display (-> connectable and acceptable). For the GM-2040 dongle, no any A-H is highlighted display. I think that the good GM-2040 results highlighted display at A.
I pluging the GM-2040 into my PC, i found out driver of Rocky4.
Can you help me for testing GM-2040 ?...

You shouldn't need any type of testing. The GM2040 is the print/scan enabler for this MFP. Once plugged in, the trail period mssg will no longer be displayed, and after inputting proper IP configuration and downloading driver, you should be printing. Also, when enabler is plugged in, your 'SCAN" hard button should now light when depressed. EMujo

08/258 should be at a 1, but this code has no relavance to the print/scan enabler. Did you try to look at the enabler when you plugged it in to your PC? Did you try to make any changes to it? If the enabler has been corrupted, that would explain why the trial period message is still showing. With the enabler plugged in, can you press and light the scan hard button? Look at the enabler itself, what exactly is it labled as? EMujo

After a little research, I found a few other items. I can't get this info from toshiba anymore, but maybe someone else can check this for you... Your machine is at ver 329..this version supprorts the new version of enablers (GM 2041) What I don't know is if the new version of firmware supports the older GM2040. Any answers out there? My general feeling is yes, the enablers are backward compatible, and I know the GM 2041 wont work with a lower version. EMujo

            Hi emujo,
I have no choice. I do 08-799 set =0 to end the trials. I plug in GM-2040 to MFP , but I don't print/scan by this GM-2040. TopAccess don't show parts of print/scan as before. I will return it and seek other.

Just a shot in the dark...you aren't plugging the enabler into the slot on the SYS bd are you? This slot is for the data overwrite kit only. The enabler should be plugged into one of the 2 side by side USB ports on the right/rear side of the MFP. Emujo
