    e 16/20/25 broken heater gear

    Hai all,

    most of my estudio16/20/25,the gear which rotates the heater roller(GEAR-HR/RLR) is breaking frequently,around 40k copies

    is this a manufacturing problem?

    any ideas

    It sounds quite anxiously (every 40k). Generally You have to apply special grease (quite expensive) to the boss of the gear when You change it. But I am sure that this is not your problem or it is? Also did You make PM's like Toshiba recommends? Make sure You are using the latest version of the gear 6LE95885000 (with reinforced material against breakage).

      IMO these whole machines were just about a manufacturing problem. If you get a new fuser unit they are made better. It's probably getting tight and either needs to be rebuilt before putting another gear on. The fusers are really a pain on this model.
      I will not give you service manuals or firmware.
