Our firm purchased a "new" SC-2 controller for our Toshiba e-studio 65 about a year ago. It looked need and seemd to be packed from the factory. The tech told us the controller was complete, new and easily installed. Initially, we called our own copy tech to install the controller, he bought an ethernet card for the controller but was never able to get the controller to boot (on or off the copier). We then contacted a local copier repair firm. They decided that the client SCSI on the copier was probably bad and got a used one from their stock that they "knew for sure" was good. It didn't work either, the SC-2 still didn't boot. They tried various solutions, call some folks, including, thay said, Toshiba, without any success. We allocated $1000.00 to the install of the SC-2 controller, so once their charges totaled $1000, we kicked them out.
In any case, we moved offices and the local copier tech that services some of the tennents in our new building mentioned that he thinks the SC-2 controller requires a "scan dongle" to operate. I called both previous techs and they seem to think that the dongle functionality is internal to the SC-2.
So far we've spent $2500 without being able to scan a single page for the Toshiba.
Any suggestions?
