    Toshiba eStudio 350 HDD

Need to replace HDD due to persistent F106 errors. Looks like I will need to reinstall the master data firmware via USB. Does anyone have the USB version of this?

Also if anyone with experience on this has any advise or knows a better way. I would really appreciate it because it looks like a pain in the A$$.

If you're a toshiba tech with access to their web site, it is pretty simple to do the updates...If not, here are some tips to keep you from digging yourself deeper into a firmware mismatch hell hole....The Toshiba products "Must " be updated in steps..from ver 1xx to 2xx to 3xx and so on, I believe the 350 is around ver 4004, but I may be 1 out. The only way around "step" updates is to use a recovery jig allready at ver 4xx, but you will still need the latest USB firmware file because the HDD/UI info does not come on the recovery jig. The thumb drive for loading the firmware must be formatted "FAT" and should not be bigger that 1GB. No additional programs on the drive like U3. Your HDD should be an 80gb drive with the jumper set to master. If the MFP is used as a printer, you should downmload and install the latest drivers (available via toshiba's website for free). If you do not have a service contract on the machine and you are not a Toshiba tech I would recommend you spend the $120-150 it will cost to have this done for you. You could also save some $$$ by providing the HDD for the tech. That drive with a Toshiba label on it will cost $300. Off the shelf ( I know...80gb drives are hard to find on any shelf) will be 1/4 of that amount. If you are covered by a maintenance contract, all this should be done for free. EMujo
If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.
