    Toshiba 1550/1560

Hey, all, I know this is old, but I could reallly use some katun type feed tires for this machine. Not the OEM, & I dont need the hub, just the rubber feed tire. Katun used to sell them, but no more. They just happen to fit a digital copier that I have a lot of in the field. The aftermarket version fixes a feed problem caused by the hard rubber design of the oem tire. So, If any of you old toshiba techs wouldn't mind searching your old stock, I'd like to buy them. (I hope for your sake your not keeping them to repair the actual 1550 that they're for, what a pain they could be) tia

Precision Roller.com still has some feed tire sleeves for the 1550 bypass, maybe they are similar, looks like they also have the oem sep pf roller.

No, the bypass tire is different. They do have the feed tire (OEM with hub) that I'm looking for with the black soft rubber instead of the hard blue kind. The cost is prohibitive, however. Katun used to sell them (aftermarket version) $25 for a bag of 10. My cost from precision is about $17/tire. I need about 50 of these (or as many as I can still find) Thats a BIG difference in cost. Thats why I'm asking techs if they'd like to make a little money getting rid of some old stock that they will probably end up throwing away, if they haven't already. Probably the easiest way to sell would be to put on Ebay. I'll look & see if I can find my old toshiba katun book & get the katun part #.

I think that the katun part # is 43017098 if that helps anyone to find it in their old stock

I might have some of these still lying around, but I can tell you that the Katun tires didn't work well for me in that machine. Went back to OEM shortly after trying them.

Let me know if you find them, I'm definately want them. Honestly, I can't remember if they worked well in that machine or not, its been so long since i've had to replace feed tires in a 1550. It seems that worked well for about 30k & then you had to replace them again. The oem last forever, but you always get intermittent jams because those hard rubber rollers just dont seem to pick up as well. This is the same problem I'm having with a digital copier that I have about 50 of in the field, & these tires are the exact size as what I need.. I had a couple that I tried in machines & it fixed the intermittent jam problem of not picking up the paper

I looked and I don't have 'em Tom. Sorry. The problem with that frame was related to an extremely bad design, but it had nothing to do with the synthetic blue/gold feed rollers.... it had to do with too much pressure on the sep roller clutch spring, harness tie wraps being too tight and mag clutches failing. I used to take apart and resurface the mag clutches in that box regularly. I believe at one point, Toshiba was recommending the removal of the slip (poly) washers inside the clutches, to help them to feed better, which did seem to work.

If you doubt the integrity of the roller surface and you can't find the Katuns, I would put some alligator (recoat) tape on the pickup roller and see what happens.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the replies. After much research, I found an aftermarket company that sells them called NA Trading & Technology. I've been in the business 20 years & had never heard of them, but they've been in business even longer & had a lot of stuff at good prices & very easy to set up an account with. Thought I'd pass it along in case anyone's looking for hard to find parts, (especially feed tires)
