    Hello , i have a problem i set up a e-studio281c at my office , i set up the users , start the SNMP service enable Authentification trap and in User management set it up to MFP local authentification user auth set to "Enable and On" problem is that a part of user who use this machine are not on a local domain is it posible to that the driver will prompt them for user and password when they print ...read something on some forum that it is posible ... the best i manage i set up the users names in top access like the windows profile name ...problem is that i have some times more users using the same pc ....and my management want to see a counter for each user

    You are probably entering in the info under Users... I think it might be easier for you to just use department management and give each person their own code. Then train someone on how to add/remove/modify codes, look at totals and clear out totals. All can be done from top access under User Management > Department Management (I think that's the right phrases.) It is all explained in the User Functions manual that comes with the copier.
    I will not give you service manuals or firmware.

      I am with Toshibatech on this. It does not matter who uses what computer (other than what is displayed on the print job list) as long as they only use their code to print. It will be logged under the code and not the name. There is a limit of 1000 codes that can be used without having to purchase something to expand that number.
      And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!
