3510c doesn't print - "Print Data" constantly flashes

    Hi all,

    I have a 3510c
    Copier Firmware Version T380SY0E330
    Copier Main ROM Version 380M-15
    Copier Scanner ROM Version 380S-06

When I try to print the Print Data led flashes forever and no print ever comes out. Also, if I try to do a Print List on the User Functions screen, it just says "List Print Is Reserved".

I have rebooted it lots of times. There is nothing in the print queue. Scanning works fine and I can access TopAccess. Can't see any errors anywhere.

    It was printing last week.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

Do you have department codes enabled?
Check job status> select the different print job listings and see where the job is (secure,invalid...)
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

      Thanks for a quick reply!
I don't have department codes enabled.
When I look in the job status (other on the machine or on TopAccess) there is nothing listed. No jobs in the queue at all. I've even checked the private queue. Once I send a print job, the only way to stop the Print Data led is to reboot the printer.

The first two things that come to mind when I read this is the HDD and RAM. I would do the following:

        1. Format the HDD (this will cause data loss of anything stored on the HDD such as Address Book, Templates e-Filing. Make sure this is backed up before you format the drive).
        2. Swap the RAM from a known good working machine into the problem machine. There should be two lots of RAM, but the one that should be causing the issue would be the print RAM.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

Other than what "TheOwl" has suggest I would check the firmware version and the print driver. Make sure they are the correct one for each other. And make sure they are using the Toshiba driver otherwise it will not take the job either.

            Thanks for the replies,
I've replaced the hdd by imaging it onto another one. Didn't seem to make a difference.
I've formatted the drive with no effect.
I don't have access to replacement RAM atm. Do you know if it's the RAM at the top or the bottom of the board? I have some PC2100 memory which would (I think) work in the top memory slots, but I think that is the system ram not the print ram.

Which leaves the firmware or the data files on the hdd.
Any chance anyone has a copy of the firmware so I can replace the drive properly? T380SY0E330

            Cheers

Well, it turns out TheOwl was right! I replaced the hdd but that didn't fix it.
Swapping the RAM did though. It was the top set. Not sure what that means.

              All good now.

              Thanks heaps guys!
