Try replacing the Transfer belt cleaning assembly... if that doesn't work then might be the drum.... we have tried everything with these machines and mostly this is the cause for the blue background.

A little more info please...does the blue background show up only when copying? Does the blue background occur during B&W copies/prints. Have you scanned an image to see if the optics section is causing this? We've had problems with the 3511 during the scanning process in full color...any dirt/dust on mirrors results in blue background. If it only happens during copies, and in Auto Color/Full color, really inspect the optics and clean. If it happens during prints also, you may need a new SYS bd if all consumables are fairly new. If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.

I bet the transfer facing roller inside the transfer belt is filthy. That will give blue/green backgrounds. Pull apart belt and clean all rollers inside so you can see the metal. Replacing belt will help, but if not clean inside of belt also.

Is there any blanking area around the border of the page or does the background cover from edge to edge??
