    Estudio 281c Upgrading RAM

Hi all I'm new to your forum and hope you can help me with an upgrade I am currently doing on a Toshiba Estudio 281c, I have installed extra page file ram (256mb sdram) for higher resolution scanning and have also increased the main ram to 512mb ddr - can you tell me what I have to do to make use of it.
I have added a wireless network card and need to enable it also.

    Thanks in advance

    turn on machine
go to the calibration screen for the printer and see if it has 600 x 600 and 1200 x 600 listed. If it does then you are done if not then it may be incompatible memory.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

Thanks Mr Spock, I have went to calibration screen but do not see anything relating to resolution although when I go into the user menu to set the scan resolution for colour I still only have a maximum resolution setting of 300 dpi. I have tried several brands of memory with the same results and I have Corsair currently installed.

ps - any thoughts on activating the wifi card.

Spock was meaning to go to User Functions > Admin > General > Calibration. There is a possibility the screen could be under User Functions > User > General > Calibration if someone has messed with the "Display Level" under admin. In one of those two places when you touch "Print" you should see different resolutions listed like he was talking about.

On the wifi card I think this one uses the little tiny card with the even smaller connector and a big antenna that looks more like a phone handset? If that's what you have all that should be needed after installation is to go to User Functions > Admin > Wireless. Then you enable it put in the SSID, Encryption etc and then it will ask you to reboot the machine and it should connect. However if it is the type that hangs off the back of the machine it requires software to login to the wifi adapter and set it up. I think this was for earlier model machines though and ---I think--- you should have the first type I mentioned.
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.
