    Printer Drivers for new OS

    Hi guys...
I'm currently in a bit of situation here. I still have a few units of older toshiba machines which are DP2570/3580, e35/45 Printer board and e35/45 GL1010.

I'm wondering if these machines can work with Vista and windows 7. i've tested some and some drivers work on w7 and not on vista while some installs on vista but crashes the application when i try to print.

i've read somewhere on this forum before where there's like a universal driver which only prints with basic settings. for example one sided only. can u let me know where to get this driver?

i've also tried with some HP pcl6 driver which came with vista and some works with basic features only. just wondering, any of u guys tried those HP drivers? any particular hp model driver which works good with toshiba?

    Thanks for your help.

Forget about the DP2570 and 3850, way way way to old to support Vista/Win7

The e35 &45 have a Vista 32 bit driver and the GL1010 has a Vista 32 and 64 bit Mini driver that can be downloaded from any Toshiba site.

Toshiba - Photocopiers, printers and fax

these are VERY old models but, Microsoft say any Vista driver will work with Win7

    Good luck

i've tried that driver before and found that it is very unstable. on a clean install vista ultimate 32bit, it works. however, on few separate occasions with different customers, the application crashes when trying to print.

It might be Vista not the driver. I have worked everyday for 2 years on Vista with installed almost all of the Toshiba drivers (even TOSHIBA Viewer) and there was no crashes. Or it might be application, Vista miss updated to SP, Toshiba driver and some other printer driver conflict, etc. etc. Mini driver is free of interface and some questionable functions. So I could not believe that it is an issue.

I'll never ask if I didn't check user manual, service manual, parts list, BSI/TNI/TAD... web, existing threads.

an HP5 driver works on just about anything, but you can forget about Toshiba ever supporting that ancient crap with any new drivers.

Hewlitt Packard Laser Jet 5. Good driver to try when having issues. Works on everything as a test (of course you loose most features of the MFP, but works well as a test driver).
If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.
