    4511 Firmare for new drivers?

    Hi.
    I have just purchased 2 printers with finisher units.
    I want to use the new drivers for the machines but it says the firmware of the bridge unit / printer needs to be newer than the ones i have installed.
    The 2 machines are
    4511c & 451c.

    If someone could help i would appreciate it. I can setup a ftp with servu on my pc if that helps or my email can accept 100mb.

    I also have a problem with the 451c where the touch screen works bit its not calibrated and you have to press about 15mm below the requested area.

    Thanks in advance.

    For one the bridge unit has no firmware. The finisher firmware is update by a jig and eprom. The main unit is flashed by usb and the files are 60-110meg. I have access to the USA version firmware but this may not work for you. Also which firmware you have on the machine determines whether or not you can go to the latest or you need to update in steps.

    As to the touch screen 08-692 is the calibration method for this.
    And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

      Hi.
      thanks for the reply.
      im thinking that the firmware the the bridge unit they mention is just the machine unit firmware.

      The current firmwares are:
      4511c = T350SY0X300
      451c = T410SY0E330

      I have created a email address temp@beyondprinting.com.au that has a unlimited file limit.
      Is there any service manuals floating around for either of these machines too?

      Ive just discovered also a issue with the 4511c, when it pushes out the paper for duplex it throws it out then stiops and causes a error and not sucking it back in?

      Thanks heaps.

        The firmware I have is for USA and will not work in Australia. The 4511 is up to version 4006 which I believe can go straight to it without any extra steps. The 451c is up to version 352, I think, and should be a one shot update.

        As to the issue you have clean the exit rollers, the clutch, the exit switch (in the fuser jam clearance) and check/replace the exit motor and that should take care of it.
        And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!
