Toshiba E-Studio 3511 Asking for toner

    Hello to everybody.....
Now we have another issue with this model, we have replaced already two machines and now we are in our third one with this same problem... so.... any ideas of what might be causing it will be really appreciated.
The problem is that the machine asks for black toner, we replace it and still the machine keeps asking for toner again and doesn't work. We have opened the machine completely, cleaned everything but still the same problem is showing..... so please if anybody ahs dealt with this issue before and knows how to solve it, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance,

when was the developer replaced last? No developer and the toner sensor keeps adding hoping to fill up and it never does.
Have you checked the augers that transport the toner to the developer unit? These break and cause this issue.
Are you using the correct toner? Oem is the best in this beast.
Is the toner bottle motor turning and the hopper not packed up.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

I'm gonna bet on the auger and I'm gonna bet if you aren't familiar with it you will not have fun fixing it. Seriously though if you have already swapped out two 3511s at the same place (if I am reading this right) ... ? .. Then I would seriously consider putting a DIFFERENT model in there.
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.

thanks for the advises, we are going to try everything.... And then will post what works. The exchanges has been in two different locations, but now we got to the third one... So we need to solve this issue or is going to get bad...

I'll be posting the results, and once again thanks to all for the advices!!

You need to put the machine in test mode and run the toner bottle forward and reverse. I have had motors work well one direction, but sluggish the other direction, there is also a 1 way clutch on the hopper assy that can go bad and cause the toner delivery slip when trying to add toner. 4511 is pretty old, I would rip out the hopper, put a new motor and clutch in, and replace the delivery auger. If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.

Emujo has right, but if the toner motor is working, you must clean the sensor, deep inside the toner hopper.
