    inquiry about toshiba e-studio 45

    good day!

i have e-studio 45 that keeps warming up, then i tried to reset the system then ready appears but when im going to photocopy it say copying but no paper comes out, then im going to put off the machine, when im going put on again warming up appears again, i guess the HDD is defective, do you think im am right? im thinking of replacing new HDD but i dont know how to format it, is it the same procedure 08 then 690 then 2 then set, then reboot the machine? or there is other procedure? need some help very badly.

    thank you very much.

I would look at the fuser unit. Might be defective thermistors or possibly heating element going out. Either way it may be heating just enough to come to ready but not enough to sustain the copy process. I've had models before do something similar to what you are describing. They were not e-studio 45's (the 45 has a heating element to warm the heat roller), these models had lamps to heat the roller. One of the lamps had burned out so it would sometimes get just hot enough to come to ready, but you could forget about copying anything because all you would get is a "warming up" message. Hope this helps.

I'd say the HDD is at fault. I have seen similar scenarios before. Just use any IDE HDD you have laying around and set it to master. I have even used the 160GBs toshiba ships. 08-690 enter a 2 is all you have to do before using it. You don't have to load FW like newer models when replacing HDD on a e45.
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.

thank you so much sir., I've change the hdd and formatted it, the problem still remain. sudden change of error code, from F10, C94 C41, C49. (OMG) but the problem solve, when we took a glance at the main corona wire, it was broken. we replace it and i now running smoothly, thanks a lot.

I've noticed a lot of times when you have arcing you will see weird error codes in the history of the machine. I guess it makes them go haywire!
