    Toshiba e2500c magenta problem

    Hi friends

I got call from customer saying there is too much magenta, and magenta background on toshiba 2500c.
Any idea what's going on. Anyone have this problem? Could you point me what to look because this customer lives too far from me.

    Thanks

main charge/ developer/ drum. If you have a complete magenta unit then I would put it in and rebuild this in the shop for a local machine.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

If they are that far away I'd spend some time there. These suckers get dirty. Take apart all of the charges and clean them meticulously. Scotch-brite the mag rollers. Clean the IQC sensor under the belt. Take the belt off and clean the facing roller. Vacuum it out and make sure the slit glasses are really clean.

As far as the magenta background I agree with spock... but if you don't have a spare unit at least take developer, drum, blade. (Keep in mind all the units are swappable, you have to swap out the thermostat on the Y/K units.) Also it might be a M Background on copies only. If this is the case then you might have to make some 05 adjustments or at least try calibrating it. If that doesn't do it sometimes choosing default calibration will get rid of a BG on copies only.
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.

          OK thank you all,

Of course I will do all of the above, just want to be prepared when come to the site..
What were you thinking when you pointed me on 05 adjustments. I did 05-395, 05-396 and 05-4719. Is there something else to set up if cleaning doesn't help?

I believe the 05 codes ToshibaTech was referring to are scanner background adjustments. There is , if I remember correctly, one for each scan setting, ie, text/photo, ,text, photo and manual or auto. This will only be your problem if its only giving the background when copying. You will also notice your copy will still have the default blanking area around the border.
Sorry mate, cant find the bulletin on this one at the moment. Ill have a better look later.

I think the codes are around 1688 and there are sub codes... You also need to do the calibrations for gamma adjust along with the other codes. You can do these from the control panel under User Functions > admin > 123456 > General > Calibration ... do it for print and scan.

try blowing out the gamma tables and taking the box to factory callibration 08 597 initialise then set up calibration from factory setting using 05 4 fax scan in 1642 then 70 fax scan in 1008
this might pull it back if someones calibrated a bad chart
                shit in shit out!!!!
