estudio 350 gets really hot and smudges after about 300 copies

Our estudio 350 gets really hot and smudges after about 300 copies (duplexed). If we let it rest for an hour, it will last maybe another 100-200 copies before getting hot again and smudging the copies. What could be the culprit?

make sure the paper weight is correct and check/change the thermistors. They can get dirty/bent or under sensitive and cause the fuser temp to be incorrect.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

The 350 has been around for some time.. the fuser section runs hot and gets worse if the filters are never replaced or the exhaust fans are really gunky. Over time the plastic cover that sits over the fuser starts to sag and turn orange..all normal but in need of replacement. A smudge should not only present itself after a certain amount of copies but you never know...can you post a image of the smudging problem? Possibly the smudge is coming from the LFR and that might only present during duplex, have you looked at and replaced worn items in the fuser? Emujo
If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.

I'd bet on Drum Blade / Process related. These make a tell tell smudge when the blade gets decrepit. Usually it's more on the first page(s) out though so I could be wrong.
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.
