[Misc] eStudio 5520C - "Restart Machine" Message on Screen

This is a strange problem. This machine will post this message at random times. There's nothing in the service manual about this. I also checked the Error List report and the only thing posted are routine jams - nothing else. I also checked the HDD report to see if there were any errors. Everything was "zero" - which the SM says is the HDD is okay.

Any idea where to start? Or where I should look next?

    Thanks,

    CC

Check to see if it happens when one particular user prints to it. Usually with a new(er) OS than the copier can handle. Had a few machines do this after a Windows 7 machine was added to the network. It will just say "reboot machine" and show no error in history. Flash the machine to the latest firmware and check to make sure user has correct print driver. I have also had corrupt files cause this on a print job, especially from a MAC.

Get the latest printer driver for the windows 7 pc, latest firmware addresses this issue
also try this after updating the firmware
08-9988: Automatic reboot setting after "Reboot the machine" appears
      0: Not automatically rebooted
      1: Automatically rebooted (Default)

I'll never ask if I didn't check user manual, service manual, parts list, BSI/TNI/TAD... web, existing threads.

Hello everyone. Thanks to you all. It was a Windows 7 machine. We did a "line up" of all the users "Dragnet" style and asked who was getting the errors. We had two suspects - the pastor with the Mac and the choir master who had just installed Windows 7. We went for the Windows 7 machine and installed according to the Toshiba website, which said,"install the driver that comes with Windows 7". Hummm... something wrong with the drivers they supply on their website? I don't know, but it sure fixed the problem!

Shouldn't be I use the drivers all the time on Win7. Use the driver from copiers.toshiba.com then tech support, then drivers, the select your model. Downloading the full web installer simplest. About 100+ megs but it has simple installers zipped up for PCL, PS driver etc. New drivers/FW released just today. Drivers may not be on user site yet but should be soon. I'd update FW as well.
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.
