    Software which uses TWAIN scanning

    Hi guys...

    I've got some questions to ask you guys. Usually when scanning with the studio 450, 452 or even the older GL1010 with e-studio35/45, what we do is either scan to file or to e-filling right? So these files are then directly saved as PDF or TIF when accessed from the network folder or from the File Downloader.

    However, we have a few machines here like the e-studio167 or even the D85F Fax machine.

    These machines scan through TWAIN scanning. I know softwares like Photoshop or even Microsoft Document Imaging can make use of the twain driver and causes the machine to run and scan. They connect either through USB or parallel cable.

    The problem I have now is, what if the customer doesnt have these softwares?

    Does the driver comes with any software besides the print driver and internal twain driver?

          I think you need Toshiba Viewer software available at No Charge from Toshiba FTP site. At this time, Viewer does not support 64 bit computers.

              This appears to be a BOOTLEG piece of software!

              Why else would it give instructions to put in an apparently hacked password?!

                      If you are running Vista or 7, there is in built software that is installed with Windows. Just click on Start and type in Scan. You can then use the 'Scan a Document' to make use of your TWAIN devices.
                      Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

                          won't he also need twain drivers for for toshiba installed before this works? i know some of the ricohs won't work w/o the twain drivers loaded. don't u love what the acronym stands for? Technology Without An Interesting Name -sounds kinda lame, though.

                              thanks everyone for the reply!

                              for the pirated software, i dont think i'm gonna install it into my customers' PC. I might get sued for it.

                              The Toshiba Viewer software is able to scan to PDF/TIF using TWAIN?
