    4511 print drivers

Morning all( its 9:30 here). We took a toshiba 4511 color copier in on trade and it seems to be in good shape for resale, however I tried to hook it up for printing and can not get it to work right. Im using windows XP, connected to copier with USB, and have tried PCL6,PCL5c, and universal drivers. The 6 and 5c will not work at all, the universal will work but will not print in color. I think I have tried all the settings I could find but no luck. What am I missing? Thank you for any suggestions.

I'm not sure what you are missing... did you get the drivers from copiers.toshiba.com? Maybe start there... I would also try hooking it up via network connection.

On a more serious note... if you are not familiar with this machine I would not recommend putting it out under service. Anyone who has ever worked on one will tell you they are better as a boat anchor than a copier.
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.

yes I got the drivers from toshiba.com. I will try connecting using a switch instead of usb. as far as it being a boat anchor it wouldnt be the first for us, we will be careful where we sell it. Is there a setting on the copier that would not allow color printing? I couldn't find one.Thank you

No setting to not allow color, only way to do it is enabling department codes for color and not black.

The pcl6 driver is a b/w only driver for this machine. I believe that it needs to be setup on the network to print to. I do not think the usb was an option to print on this machine. I never tried it that way.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

I didnt get back to the shop today to try a differant connection but I will connect using the nic and see if that makes a differance, and the only driver I could get to work at all was the universal one and it only prints in black.....Thanks
