On this Toshiba, you can't just simply swap the HDD, the drive must be formatted, partitioned, and then firmware (HDD/UI) must be reloaded. I would call a Toshiba rep and have them perform this for you. The original HDD for the 281 was at least 60gig and I have never seen one with less than an 80 gig so the hdd is of the appropriate size. Assuming the HDD is in working condition, it will probably run you about 125-150 to have this done for you. Save yourself the fustraion and get it done. As you are paying for the hour, have the MFP cleaned and the newest drivers and firmware installed at the same time. Firmware takes about 10-15 min, clean for 1/2 hour and provide newest drivers for your IT support to install. EmujoIf you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.
