Toshiba e-studio 810 print problem - dark background

    Hi,

I hope you can help me with this one.

When I`m printing with this machine the print comes out with a fogged grey background. I`ve changed the Developer bias DC correction and Main charger grid bias correction values for Print section, and the print came worse.

The Amber LED from the control panel is lit, after the print controller is ready for printing.

This issue appears just when i`m printing, the copy process isn`t affected.
It also bring a C44 error (08-400: value "5" displayed) when is started for the first time in the morning, and when it is copying, after 16-20 copies the machine stops and displays a "WAIT" message for 10 sec and continues the job.

    Any ideas?

PS: Please excuse my English, it is not my native language.

Did you try to format HDD (08-690, type in 2)?

I believe that you should clean or replace thermistors in fuser section.

Any other ideas about the dark/grey background? Is it possible to be a problem with the laser section? Or is is a firmware problem?..taking in account that this issue appears just when I`m printing.

Try scrubbing the mag rollers with scotch brite first. They have a tendency to get a waxy build up on them. You can also try disabling IQC and SPC control as well as temp/humidity controls. A few times I have had really good luck just turning them off and letting it run. I'm talking night and day difference.

Of course you may need to actually change Developer or the Drum as well.
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.

All consumable parts are almost new (30K fuser parts, drum, developer) and i have cleaned the magnetic roller with scotch brite when i changed the developer; but nothing changed....although I never thought of disabling the IQC and SPC control...is there a problem if they are disable forever or should I reenable them after a period of time or clean/replace the sensors, if is posible?

I've got more than one out in the field that have been running that way for a loooong time. Granted the customer is not uber sensitive to CQ but they stay good and black. I'm not sure that it will fix your problem but it made an instant difference in mine. I have also had to adjust the DV bias in the past but I believe you said you had already done that.
