    print board

Hello everyone, I have a print board for the toshiba e-550. 1020 I believe. Each time I
shut down the copier, all the configuration is reset, I set it up with a static and dhcp and
its the same. I've done it a few times already. Do do think is the print board problem, or
firmware. i tried to do the firmware but having hard time with xp trying to communicate
with the copier. Thanks in advance

If You talking about GL-1020 it sounds strange because such a problem is familiar to GA-1140. I suppose You are trying to update machines firmware, are You? GL update is via external CD-ROM drive... So specify which option do You have and what is it firmware version?

I'll never ask if I didn't check user manual, service manual, parts list, BSI/TNI/TAD... web, existing threads.

Thank you ivovb for your quick response, it is the gl-1020, I tried to update the firmware using PPP protocal over serial cable. Is the Gl -1020 updated with a external cd rom? Do you think its a firmware problem or the board itself. Thank you

Machine firmware won't help to network problem. When You setup static ip does procedure goes like it should be - controller asks to reboot, You choose Yes, controller reboots and after that there is a print out with new settings (IP address...)?

I agree that battery might be a problem. GL is PC with BX chipset if my memory serves me well.

I did look for a battery but didn't find one. There is a spot where
There could of been one. It least I know there should be one
There and updating the firmware would not help. So now I'm going to ask for
An exchange. Thanks again everyone one
