    es230 won't boot up

    Hi folks.

After a few teething problems, I finally got my second hand Toshibe es230 working a couple of weeks ago.

All of a sudden though I can't seem to get the machine to boot up. I turn the machine on and I get a screen with a copier image on it but that's were it stops. The machine doesn't make any sound. When I try booting into safe mode (holding 8 and 0 down together whilst loading) it hangs as well.

Is there anyway I can force the machine to reboot?

    Thanks in advance

If it not helps try to:
      check memory module.
change sys board and flash the firmware.

I'll never ask if I didn't check user manual, service manual, parts list, BSI/TNI/TAD... web, existing threads.

Thanks for the replies guys. Is there a manual somewhere that tells me where the harddrive and memory modules are located and how to reinstall the hardrive and flash the firmware?

        Thanks.

It is explained in Service manual but You don't need it. I am sure You can figure it out after removing back cover.

It is explained in Service Handbook. You will need this definitely if You would like to solve the problem and service the machine in the future!

Well, first of all I would like to say that if you are not a copier/printer technician like we are here, it will be a little bit difficult for you to perform a troubleshooting on this equipment. The answer for your question is, as the book says, first try to format the HDD, if that doesn't work, you're gonna have to replace it. In order to do that, you must to follow the HDD replacement procedure, and one of the steps is update the firmware. If somebody's looking for a job as a tech, please hit me @ robycopy@hotmail.com
