    e-3510c color mismatch

    Hey all,
Got an e-3510c which is printing excellent except for one document which is of a dark sunset, silhouette in most areas. These areas are printed purple rather than almost black. So far I have replaced all EPU's, only because they had passed their yeild and i needed a starting point. Serviced the transfer belt assy, conductive grease, the usual clean out, polish and new belt. (04) half tones are excellent. Toshiba test chart and electronic test chart are both normal.
Well thats where I'm at now. Two and a half grand worth of parts and not even the slightest change. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys and girls. BEER OCLOCK.

have you tried scanning to a pc to see if its an optical problem,or failing that try loading a different colour profile on the driver.also try using a ps3 driver if you`re printing images or pictures,if you alredy are try a pcl5c to see if it makes any difference

File format and size in Mb? Application that You are using? Attach the file to test it on different machine.

I'll never ask if I didn't check user manual, service manual, parts list, BSI/TNI/TAD... web, existing threads.

I should have been clearer. This machine has printed thousands of these documents. Up until yesterday they looked perfect. I also got my hands on one of these documents which is printed how they should look and copied it off the glass, which produced the same purple effect.

P.S. How the hell do I attach a a few images to this post?

I'd pull the laser and clean all the slit glasses. They can get dirty from time to time.

Good idea. Was only about a month ago that I cleaned the laser, but I will have to do it again today to cross another "maybe" off the lest. Cheers all.

Just found (08-1415) toner near end detection turn off. I did not turn it off myself, but Im pretty sure I know who did and it has been about 6 weeks since it has been switched off.
So anyway, what have i done to this machine since installing new units and what do I need to do to get it back in spec? Will forced toner supply add the correct amount of toner or does t just dump some?

Well, as you might know, the color process on those machines are not "real color", is a combination of all the colors Y,M,C and K added in order to get the results ( I don't mean to be really deep here ). I would say, as i've seen on the field, you probably have an original that was generated as a copy from a different color copier, and because that original was already a result of Y,M,C and K added combination, it will never get the same color on a copy process. Just to give you an example: if you get a picture in the PC and print a color print from an HP, and use that print as an original on a e-3510, you won't get the same thing. It will be close, but not the same. Another point of view is if you're not copying but printing from a PC. I'll tell you what: if the toshiba test chart and electronic test chart came out good, and all the other jobs are printing good, my friend, I'm sorry but your file has some issue or a particular setting, or format, or something special hid on it. I would try it on another printer, if available or @ staples. If anyone's looking for a tech job in CT, please hit me @ robycopy@hotmail.com

Cheers mate, but issue is resolved. Machine was starved of toner. I cant explain why half tones were and test charts looked ok, but once i realized what had happened, the fix was very simple. Not my practice to change service mode settings from default so it was the last thing I suspected.
                  Anyway, thank you all.
