    toshiba 281c background

    Hi,

I'm with some troubles with the E-studio 281c, The problem is, sometimes the machine make a background, first start with a full background in color copies and prints, now this happens in black prints and copies. The background only happens sometimes, the machine can run for some days working fine and in one make this again.
It happens when print for example 30 copies, and only in 10 makes the background, and in copy mode too. Sometimes make in all copies. But it can print 200 copies in a row and don't make in any.

And sometimes only make the background in half a page. In the example is a black copy. The page is in A4.

I hope I'm making myself understand.

I already change all pm parts, and now I go try some others, some idea?

First of all explanation is OK. It seems that the cleaning of transfer belt does not work as it should be. Check connector if it is disconnected of transfer belt cleaner auger motor. Check if this motor is working in service mode.

I'll never ask if I didn't check user manual, service manual, parts list, BSI/TNI/TAD... web, existing threads.

Just checked the PDF's. Do the copies feel grainy at all.
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.

I do not work on this Model, however it sounds like a flakey Developer Bias conector or HVT. I had similar problem background with Yellow, on E4520 and it was loose conector for Bias on HVT.

Looking at the PDF again, it looks as if there is no lead or trail edge void. Have you checked the motor connector on the rear of the process units as suggested by ivovb

                I see attachment file.
What is the number of copies whith the drum?
You need to change the drum and the cleaning drum blade.
After that you need to performe color calibration.

What colour is the background on colour copies. Yellow is the last colour laid on the transfer belt and is usually obvious if the the transfer belt cleaner is failing.
